The publication "Humans trust central vision more than peripheral vision even in the dark" by Alexander Schütz and Alejandro Gloriani receives public attention
When you're in the dark: Although there's a gaping hole in the center of our visual field when it's dark, people largely rely on the vague information about this gap when it's dark - when there would be more reliable information coming from the edge of the visual field. This is what psychologists at Philipps University have found out through perception experiments. Professor Dr. Alexander C. Schütz and his colleague Dr. Alejandro H. Gloriani report on their findings in the current issue of the scientific journal "Current Biology".
