Over the last years research on ageing has received increasing attention. This trend has been fuelled not only by the need to meet demographic changes, but also by awareness of informative value provided by age effects. Ageing offers a unique window to functional limits as well as to potential plasticity and furthers our understanding of processing mechanisms. However, most research has approached perceptual, motor, cognitive, and motivational processes more or less separately so far. Our workshop will bring together leading experts in the field who complement each other with regard to functional domains and methods. The workshop aims to foster an integrative perspective on the complexity of ageing processes, including behavioural findings as well as neuronal correlates. Gathered expertise will allow a comprehensive overview of current research on age-related changes and will facilitate uncovering interwoven processes and interactions. We expect inspiring exchange, vivid discussions of future research directions, and impulses for innovative collaborations.
