My current research investigates what cognitive and perceptual factors contribute to color categories. One project uses attention paradigms to look at whether categorization drives attention via behavioral and EEG techniques. Another ongoing project involves looking at the color categories of color-deficient observers and whether filtered lenses influence the stability of these categories. Future work involves looking at the neural correlates of color categories in the visual cortex using fMRI, and a separate project looking at how color categories can be learned in virtual reality.
