Kurzinfo
In my project we investigate how the relationship between visual-spatial predictive abilities and motor skills develops, using a longitudinal approach. Research conducted during previous funding periods has provided compelling evidence of a strong link between mental rotation ability and motor skills in infancy. Therefore, we examine whether this association persists from infancy to 4- and 6-year-old children. Furthermore, we are using a head-mounted eye tracker to measure gaze behaviour. By collaborating with the C10 project, we aim to unravel the extent to which mental rotation ability contributes to the development of mathematical skills in pre-schoolers.
