Der Schwerpunkt meiner Forschung liegt auf interindividuellen Differenzen der visuellen Wahrnehmung und der sensomotorischen Kontrolle. Mein Interesse gilt der Frage, wie Sensorik, Motorik, Kognition und Motivation miteinander verwoben sind und wie dieses Zusammenspiel zwischen verschiedenen Personen variiert. Meine Projekte beschäftigen sich sowohl mit der Variabilität in gesunden Stichproben als auch mit Einschränkungen in verschiedenen Patientengruppen. Altersbedingte Unterschiede bei Gesunden erlauben mir Einblicke in funktionelle Grenzen, aber auch in das Plastizitätspotential im Erwachsenenalter. Mein Ziel ist es, ein übergreifendes Verständnis der Komplexität von Alterungsprozessen zu fördern und die Mechanismen zu charakterisieren, die erfolgreiches Altern unterstützen.
