Meine Forschung konzentriert sich auf die visuelle Wahrnehmung von Materialien, Objekten und deren physikalischen Eigenschaften. Ich verwende eine Kombination aus Wahrnehmungs- und Verhaltensmethoden, Computergrafik, Bildanalyse und Computermodellierung (einschließlich Deep Learning). Mein Ziel ist es, die Hinweise und Berechnungen zu bestimmen, die das visuelle System verwendet, um den Eindruck von Oberflächen und Objekten zu erkennen, neuartige Reize zu kategorisieren und zu interpretieren, ihr zukünftiges Verhalten vorherzusagen und unsere physischen Interaktionen mit ihnen zu steuern.
